This is an antique Japanese military sake cup, decorated with a kiri in the middle and the words "Imperial Bestowed Meal Commemoration" with the soldier's name Toya. These are usually meals given to soldiers for some commemorating event - Imperial Guards get it when they leave, but there were other occasions too. The base of the cup is a cherry blossom.

Condition: Excellent - very light fading of the gold
