This is an antique Japanese military sake cup, decorated with a stylized crane, which is a symbol for the Maizuru fortress (the name literally means dancing crane) and a star. The words are "Maizuru Heavy Artillery Soldier" and "Term Fulfillment Commemoration". 

Condition: Excellent - some fading of the gold
