This is an antique Japanese military sake cup, decorated with a railroad defense unit insignia, a poem, and the words "Independent Defense 2nd Infantry" and the soldier's name Watanabe. The reference to independent defense unit is that of the railroad defense unit in Manchukuo guarding Japanese interests there.
