This is an antique Japanese military sake cup, decorated with a wreath and the words "Shobu" which means "Invigorating Martiality". The words on the back are "South Okitama Township Shobukai" - Okitama is an area in Yamagata prefecture. The township system was long abolished during the early decades of the 20th century so we know this is an old cup for the Shobukai - a right wing organization that was meant to support the military, etc
