This is an antique Japanese military sake cup, decorated with a badge of the Veterans Association with four zigzag lines. The words on the back of the cup are "Kanetani Village Branch 4th Platoon Flag Establishment Ceremony Commemoration". This cup probably commemorates the expansion of the local veterans association into four platoons worth of men, with a new flag to match.
