This is an antique Japanese military photo, with a group shot of five sailors, all of whom are some kind of petty officer I presume (with the sword). The words on the back are "Gift to Major Ikegami for trip to Maizuru" "Meiji 37th Year July" and "Taken at Tsushima Island, Kechi village". Kechi village is now the city of Tsushima. This is taken less than two months after the Battle of Tsushima which took place near the island.
