This is an antique Japanese military dish, decorated with a very nicely done hand painted picture of some soldiers lying prone in shooting position. with their machine guns. There are some planes overhead and a landscape in the background. The words on the back of the dish are "Showa 8th Year (1933) 3rd Division Fall War Games Commemoration" and the maker's mark Noritake and the Japanese ceramics association. Noritake is a premium brand of Japanese ceramics and they still exist today.
