Very Rare Antique Japanese Military WW1 Qingdao Garrison Infantry Army Sake Bottle

Regular price $0

This is an antique Japanese military sake bottle, decorated with a flag, cherry blossoms, the big words "Among men, samurai" and the smaller words are "54th Infantry" "Qingdao Garrison Commemoration". The soldier's name Nogami is on the back. The Japanese fought the Germans in WW1 entering the war as an ally of the UK, and they took Qingdao from the Germans in as part of their attack on German possessions in Asia. They had to return Qingdao after the Treaty of Versailles "robbed" them of their war spoils, and the city was given back to China in 1922. So items for Qingdao garrisons are pretty rare, especially bottles - it was less than 10 years and not a lot of units made it there in any capacity.

Condition: Excellent - some fading of the gold words

Size: 5.75" tall x 2" across
