This is an antique Japanese commemorative paperweight, decorated like a traditional style mirror and on the front has the words "Kachozan". This is the alternative name of the Buddhist temple Choin-in, located in Kyoto and one of Japan's most important temples. The words on the back are "2600th Imperial Age Commemoration". This refers to the celebration in 1940 of Japan's supposed founding 2600 years prior. Among other things an official medal was issued for this occasion.
