This is an antique Japanese military dish, decorated with a Japanese cavalry officer swinging his sword at a Qing soldier. There are reinforcements coming in on the left. The words are "Hongwasai", which I believe is a location in Liaoning province in northeast China, and this engagement was part of the Battle of Niuzhuang.

Condition: Excellent - minor imperfection in the pictures' colors. I have a few of these and there are small variations in how the dish looks
