This is an antique Japanese military sake dish, decorated with a detailed picture of Japanese troops entering a city gate - with the words Moktan-tei written on top of it, indicating its location. The words on the right are "Toyohashi 18th Regiment" "Colonel Sato". Presumably he was the commanding officer. Moktan-tei was a fortification on the northern side of the city of Pyongyang that the Japanese captured during the battle, and its fall was instrumental in the capture of the city in the Sino Japanese War.
