This is an antique Japanese military sake cup, decorated with a biplane, some clouds, and a star. The words are "3rd Flying Battalion" "Discharge Commemoration". This is from the early days of the flying units - after a while they got upgraded into flying regiments. The soldier's name Tanabe is on the back.
