This is a pair of antique Japanese military sake cups, decorated each with a pattern of hand-hammered marks on the exterior. The cups are made of "pure tin", as mentioned on the bottom of the cups. The words around the bottom are "Leaving the service commemoration" and the soldier's name Nakajima, along with a hand-decorated star. Unlike most cups I sell, these you can drink in safely without worrying about damaging the decorations. Pure tin cups (unlike pewter) has no lead, and are a bit brittle but quite valuable back in the day.
