Rare Antique Japanese Military Baron Nishi Equestrian Compeititon Army Sake Cup

Regular price $0

This is an antique Japanese military sake cup, decorated with a soldier on his horse doing equestrian jumps. The words are "Discharge Commemoration" "9th Cavalry". This is probably related to Baron Nishi's win in the Olympics in Los Angeles in 1932. After that a bunch of cavalry items had his image on it - this is probably one of them. Aside from that, Nishi is of course most famous for being the second in command at Iwo Jima during its defense against the Americans.

Condition: Some fading of the gold
