This is an antique Japanese military commemorative bowl, decorated with a stunning visual of the Nagoya Castle with its golden fish decorations, and a few planes flying overhead with the straight lines mimicking searchlights. The words on the back are "Nagoya Air Defense Exercise Commemoration" "Showa 4th Year (1929) July" and the name of the maker, Noritake, which is a famous ceramics maker that is still in business today making dinnerware.
