This is a very rare antique Japanese military sake cup, decorated with a lifebuoy, with the words "Launch Commemoration" in the middle and the name of the ship Kurama. The words around the back are "Meiji 40th Year October 21st", which translates to 1907 October 21st. As with other launch items - these are very rare due to their one off nature. Kurama was a battlecruiser for the Japanese navy, but scrapped after the WW1 due to the Washington Naval Treaty.
