This is an antique Japanese military sake cup, decorated with a cherry blossom in the center and the words "Gift of Reward" "Crew of Warship Itsukushima". The marks on the back are "Pure silver" and the name of the maker. The Itsukushima is one of the three cruisers of the Matsushima class that was built around 1890 and served in the Sino Japanese and the Russo Japanese war. These three ships were named after the three famous scenes of Japan.

The cup is about 70g in weight. Japanese pure silver is of higher purity than sterling - by silver value alone the cup is about $38.
