Antique Japanese 1895 1st Sino Japanese War Fighting Commemoration Lacquer Army Sake Cup
This is an antique Japanese military sake cup, decorated with a regimental banner that's somewhat tattered, as they often were after seeing combat and the flag extends to the back of the cup The words on the cup are "Fighting Commemoration" and the smaller black words on the flag are "11th Infantry Regiment". The words on the back are "Meiji 27/28th Years War" which refers to the first Sino-Japanese war in which the Japanese took control of Korea. The 11th Regiment took part in the Battle of Pyongyang among others.
