This is an antique Japanese military sake cup, decorated with a phoenix on the one side, and a kiri on the other, both symbolizing the imperial family. The words on the side are "Special Prize" and under the cup "Taisho 13th Year Tokyo Area Garrison Shooting Competition". This is probably for some shooting competition held for soldiers garrisoned around Tokyo - thus the imperial family symbols. The cup is made of silver of unknown purity.
