This is an antique Japanese army dish, decorated with a picture of what looks like a Meiji-era army uniform officer in heavy winter gear on a horse, slowly walking through snow. There's a bunch of droplets of white glaze scattered on the this - I think this is supposed to simulate falling snow. I suspect this may be for a Russo Japanese war scene, although there are no words on the dish. The person who sold it to me claims it's general Nogi, but it doesn't quite look like him.
