This is an antique Japanese military sake cup, decorated with a pair of flags and made of lacquered wood. The words on the back are "Meiji 27/28th Years War Commemoration" and in the center "4th Guards Infantry 4th Supply Unit". This is for the 1895 Sino Japanese War.
