This is an antique Japanese military sake cup, decorated with a double cherry blossom and the words "War Victory Return Commemoration" "Meiji 27/28th Years War", which refers to the first Sino Japanese War of 1895. The words on the exterior are "Uonuma Township Soldiers Welcoming and Appreciation Celebration". The box names the person receiving the cup - the same Namiki Bankichi on the other cup I recently listed.
