This is an antique Japanese military sake cup, decorated with a chrysanthemum in the center with the big words "Imperial Guards" on top. The words on the back are "Meiji 29th December" "Gift to Mr. Numano Sanzo". This is probably a soldier who just returned from the 1st Sino-Japanese War of 1895-96. This is a 120 years old cup! It's also fairly large at 5" across.

Condition: Excellent - very light blemishes on the surface
