This is an antique Japanese military sake cup, decorated with a big star and the words "Northern Qing Garrison Commemoration". The soldier's name Minnagawa is on the back. Northern Qing is usually a reference to the events surrounding the Boxer Rebellion in 1900 and its aftermath.
