This is an antique Japanese military sake cup, decorated with a naval insignia. The words on the back are "Showa 2nd Year Navy Special Grand Exercise Participation Commemoration". This would be in reference to the grand fleet review of 1927 that coincided with the Showa emperor's formal enthronement. The cup is made of pewter.
