This is an antique Japanese navy pewter cup saucer, usually used in the tea ceremony for senchado. The saucer is made with pewter, and decorated with a profile of a battleship - this is the battleship Kirishima, and you know this because the event commemorated is the special naval exercise fleet review. The words are "Fleet Review Commemoration" "Showa 5th Year" "Hyogo Prefecture". The naval exercise that year (1930) took place near Kobe, which is located in Hyogo prefecture. 165 ships participated in this fleet review, and the Kirishima was the ship that the emperor was on for the review - thus the profile on top. The maker's mark for Shobido is on the back.
