This is an antique Japanese military sake cup, decorated with a helmet and a flag. The words are "Shanghai Expedition Victorious Return Commemoration" and "35th Infantry". The 35th was part of the 9th division, and was one of the first unit sent to Shanghai in the Shanghai Incident of 1932. They stayed there for three months before returning home.
