This is an antique Japanese military sake cup, decorated with a regimental banner with the words "68th Infantry Regimental Banner Celebration Day" "26th Commemoration" and under the flag "Showa 8th Year May 10th". This would be the day they received the flag from the emperor personally - so every year they celebrate the day as all regiments do.
