Antique Japanese Military 1935 Special War Games Imperial Tour Commemoration Pewter Stand
This is an antique Japanese military commemorative stand, made of pewter and decorated on the surface with an image of a crane and a turtle over the seas, both symbols of longevity. The words on the side of the base are "Special War Games Imperial Tour Commemoration" and "Showa 10th Year (1935) November". This war games was conducted in southern Kyushu. The emperor would have been there to preside over it and it was also a part of an imperial tour around the area.
