This is an antique Japanese military sake cup, decorated with a Z-Flag and the words "Japan Sea Battle Commemoration" and "30th Anniversary". This refers to the Battle of Tsushima, where of course the Z-Flag was the famous signal used by Togo to tell his fleet the message that the fate of the empire depended on them that day, in an echo of Nelson at Trafalgar. The exterior of the cup has some landscape decoration.
