This is an antique Japanese sake cup, decorated with an embossed flag in the center. The words around the rim are "2600th Anniversary Lord Kusunoki Bronze Statue Commemoration". The 2600th year anniversary was 1940, when Japan was supposedly in its 2600th Year of the imperial age. Lord Kusunoki refers to Kusunoki Masashige, who was a 13th century samurai known for his loyalty.
