This is an antique Japanese military sake cup, decorated with a biplane and a star with the plane flying over some clouds. The words are "3rd Flying Battalion" and "Discharge Commemoration". The use of the name battalion would suggest this is very early days in Japan's military aviation. The soldier's full name Uchinami Shinzan is on the back. This is the same family name as another cup I'm selling - I bought these together and it would suggest it was for the same family.
