This is an antique Japanese military sake cup, decorated with a cherry blossom with two lines - this should be 2nd company, and the number of the unit 53, which is probably an infantry regiment. The words are "Term Fulfillment Discharge Commemoration" and the soldier's name Masuda is on the back.
