This is an antique Japanese military sake cup, decorated with a nice looking horse and a flag. The words on the cup area "Discharge commemoration" "23rd Cavalry Machine Gun Unit" and the soldier's name Konishi. I wasn't even aware that Japanese cavalry units had attached machine gun units, although that makes sense.
