Antique Japanese Military Celebratory Soldier Manchukuo Victory Helmet Army Sake Cup
This is an antique Japanese military sake cup, decorated with a soldier in a rare celebratory pose holding a rifle and a Japanese flag, and a flag of Manchukuo on the right. The words are "Manchuria Incident Victorious Return Commemoration". The exterior of the cup is in the shape of a helmet with three shells as the base and the words "Loyalty and Bravery" embossed. This cup is quite interesting because you can see how these cups were made - the brown paint on the exterior is a bit smudged and the clear and shiny glaze is partially applied but not completely, suggesting these things were applied in layers and had to be fired in succession.
