Antique Japanese Military Emperor Enthronement Soldier Insurance Company Lacquer Sake Cup
This is an antique Japanese military sake cup, decorated with a phoenix and a kiri. The words on the back are "Emperor Enthronement Commemoration" and "Kokuka Drafted Soldiers Insurance Corporation". Buying some kind of insurance (perhaps disability or life?) for drafted soldiers was common. It's not quite sure which enthronement this is - could either be Taisho (1915) or Showa (1928).
