This is an antique Japanese military sake cup, decorated with a wreath with the words "Spirited Loyalty" in the center. The words on the back are "Gift by Sakurai Heigoro". The cup comes with an original cardboard box with a nice eagle design, also has the words "Congratulations on Coming Home" "Gift" and the same name, Sakurai Heigoro. I suppose this might be some local notable who made a bunch of these for returning soldiers.
