This is an antique Japanese military tray, decorated with a helmet, a flag, and a bunch of cherry blossoms, with a poem on the right and the words "Commemoration" next to the star.
Condition: There's some cracking along the edge due to the way these trays were constructed (one bottom panel with side panels attached - so where they get attached often crack due to age)
