This is an antique Japanese military sake cup, decorated with a chrysanthemum and an insignia of the Imperial Guards. The words are "2nd Guards Infantry Commemoration" and the soldier's name Yamada. The exterior of the cup is in the shape of a helmet with a pair of rifles at the base.
