This is an antique Japanese military sake cup, decorated with a pair of anchors, a cherry blossom, and a chevron on top. The words are "Kure Naval Unit" "Term Fulfillment Commemoration". The sailor's name Takenouchi is on the back. This is a first class seaman rank insignia as seen on the round arm patches, with the chevron, I'm told, representing good conduct.
