Antique Japanese Military Miyama Fortress Artillery Army Sake Bottle
This is an antique Japanese military sake bottle, decorated on the front with a star and the words "Commemoration". The words on the back are "Miyama Heavy Artillery Regiment" and the soldier's name Yamamoto. Miyama is a section of the Yura fortress complex near Wakayama, guarding the Seto sea. The bottle is made of a natural crackle glaze. It's clearly heavily used as the lines are quite dark. At one point there was probably a top that made it look like an artillery shell but that's no longer extant.
