Antique Japanese Military Port Arthur Garrison 203 Hill Monument Army Sake Cup

Regular price $0

This is an antique Japanese military sake cup, decorated with the monument on the Hill 203 in Port Arthur after the Japanese captured it - the monument was made from melted cannons, if my memory serves. Hill 203 was a strategic lookout that had panoramic views of the city - once it was captured the city surrendered very quickly as the Japanese were able to shoot into the city from there. The words on the cup are "Port Arthur Garrison Commemoration" and the renamed hill "Hill where souls lie" are on the monument. The soldier's name Mizuno is on the back.

Condition: Excellent - some fading of the gold

Size: 3" across
