This is an antique Japanese military sake cup, decorated with a scroll with chrysanthemums and a star. The words are "Discharge Commemoration" "7th Infantry". The soldier's name Hirada is on the back - the given name is there too, but it's a bit faded. The name of the kiln Kutani is in the base.
