This is an antique Japanese military sake cup, decorated with a helmet, a pair of flags, and some cherry blossoms. The words are "Commemoration". The cup is rather unique in having a map on the left side of the cup showing Shanghai and other major coastal cities of China. This is quite likely for the China Incident when Japan invaded in 1937.
