Antique Japanese Military Shimoshizu Air Academy Type 91 Fighter Army Sake Cup
This is an antique Japanese military sake cup, decorated with a type 91 Nakajima fighter and the words "1st Air Corps Discharge Commemoration". The words on the exterior are "Shimoshizu Air Academy Assignment". The Shimoshizu academy was focused initially on spotting artillery shells as was the initial role for planes in WW1. Then it developed into the main school for air surveillance and spying/surveying/scouting. The soldier's name Sekito is on the back.
Condition: Excellent - some fading of the gold. The spot at 4 o'clock at the rim is a dip in the rim but not a chip
