This is an antique Japanese military sake cup, decorated with a star and an insignia with the word "division" on the inside. The words on the top are "59th Infantry Short Term Service Commemoration" and the soldier's name Kawada is under the star. The exterior of the cup is an embossed pattern of flags and cherry blossoms with a plane as the base. For some reason these cups are overwhelmingly brown, and sometimes green, but almost never blue.
