This is an antique Japanese military sake cup, decorated with a soldier standing guard with his rifle and bayonet and a flag hanging from it. The words are "Victorious Return Commemoration" "18th Infantry". The poem on the cup is a line about "The bayonet that holds the peace of East Asia".
