This is an antique Japanese military sake cup, decorated with a helmet, a katana, and cherry blossoms. The big black words are "Spirit of Yamato" - Yamato being the old name for Japan, so it really means "Spirit of Japan". The smaller red words are "China Incident Commemoration" and the soldier's name Abe is in gold. The exterior of the cup is embossed with a few battle scenes.
