This is an antique Japanese military sake cup, decorated with a flag of the military academy, some cherry blossoms, and the words "Toyohashi Army Instruction Academy" "Graduation commemoration". This was the school that trained NCOs - presumably from enlisted men who were chosen. The base of the cup is a small cherry blossom with a helmet design on the exterior, and the soldier's name Ikeda inside the base.
