This is an antique Japanese military sake cup, decorated with a helmet, a katana, and a pair of flags. One of the flags is the five colored flag of the provisional government of the Republic of China, a puppet state set up under the Japanese after their initial conquest in North China in 1937 before being consolidated in 1940 into a single entity. The words are "Commemoration" "China Incident". The exterior of the cup is in the shape of a helmet with five cherry blossom petals as the base.
